This stuff just confused us when we found it, so what better way to start a Monday morning? Much as the skull looks like polystyrene and the tyre looks like its just been painted white, it is in fact all marble.
This is just some of the work from Italian sculptor Fabio Viale, who works exclusively with marble, using it to imitate everyday objects. Pretty cool in itself, then we saw this:
This is no ordinary speedboat in that it is indeed – you guessed it - made out of marble. And it works. You have to wonder what was wrong with the normal stuff (wood, metal, plastics) but it’s still a pretty impressive feat.
