That may sound like a bit of a dull title for a post, but we thought these photos actually captured something quite interesting.
The photos are the work of Brian Ulrich, and were put together as a perspective on the state of American/Western commerce. We’ve always know that the stuff we buy is soon thrown away, wasted and disposed of – with no small cost to the environment. This however highlights the other – equally disturbing – side of the equation. It’s not just product packaging that gets left behind, but entire buildings… The cost of these things is huge, and the environmental impact of building them can’t be small either.
The photos seem to capture this air of desolation and waste quite beautifully, and they certainly made us think.
