With Copenhagen going on and the ski season approaching we thought this new lift sharing website – www.mountainrideshare.com – was worth a mention. The idea is to connect like minded skiers and snowboarders to get to the mountains in a cheap and green way.
The site connects skiers and snowboarders going the same way to advertise a spare space in their car or find drivers going the same way with a spare space to offer. Splitting the petrol costs it’s a cheap way to get to the mountains and can help save the resorts.
We can’t really see who loses out of this. Some people get a free lift, others get some company for the drive, and everyone saves money and emissions. As massive skiing fans, this is where we’ll be looking next time we want to head to the mountains…
