We love this new installation from Dutch artist Victor van Gaasbeek. It uses a technique that is far from new – that of negative space, or leaving blank areas in a picture. However, what we like is the focus of van Gaasbeek’s work.
Each of the animals ‘cut out’ of these shots are endangered species – the idea being that they may well not be part of this image for much longer.
We reckon this makes for a pretty good combination of art and environmental activism…
