Excuse the pun. Who says that advertising can’t help people? This innovative bus stop poster combines creative with functionality as it doubles as a charging station for mobile phones.
Despite Vitamin Water actually have very little to do with technology, the message is beautifully simple. It tells you that the drink will revive, restore and recharge your internal batteries, much like what the poster will do for your phone.

Designer Niklas Wagner has come up with a new design for Vespa scooters, and… well, it doesn’t look anything like the Vespas we know. It actually doesn’t even look like a scooter.
The new design is meant to attract the next-generation of riders, but it has lost all the Vespa charm! How disappointing.
We understand that they needed to freshen up the look a little, add a few gadgets and all for it to appeal to the technology addicts, but isn’t this pushing it a bit too far? It has made us a little sad. Could you imagine Italian streets filled with scooters that look like props from The Fifth Element?
We couldn’t really find more information about the project on Google, and if it’s not on Google then it doesn’t exist! So we hope it’s only a potential design, and that Vespa is not going to bite it.
To be honest, it’s probably us being a bit old school. And if so, this scooter isn’t really targeted to us anyway.

We got really excited when we saw the words ‘solar-powered’ and ‘bus’ in a sentence together. Ryobi joined forces with Sanyo Electric to design what they promote as the “world’s first solar-powered public bus”.
But as good as it might sound, there is a catch. The solar panels don’t power the bus to move, but the interior LED lights. Sunlight would only allow the bus to drive 8 miles at best apparently. How deceptive! We know we shouldn’t be too critical as this is obviously a little step towards greener transportation, but they made it sound more than it actually is.

European Mobility Week is a really simple, and hopefully effective, idea. It offers celebrations of green transport all over Europe where residents can reclaim roads. Here are just two examples;
Residents of the town of Almada in Portugal can swap recyclable materials for free rides on public transportation.
In Budapest, Hungary, they closed a road to all but public transit vehicles and hybrid cars. Best of all the road was even turned into a “living street” and paved with green grass that hosts sports and theater events for three days. If only it could be like this all year round, most certainly in the summer.

From time to tme, we’ve wondered what puts people off taking public buses. Usually however, standing in the wind and rain under a piece of dirty grey plastic waiting for the stupid things to turn up answers the question.
Well we can’t do much about the weather, but what if they weren’t such dirty little pieces of plastic?
It might seem a little uneccessary, but I would challenge anyone to catch the bus to work in the morning from something like the pic below and not do so with a smile on their face.
